Military
There are SIX BRANCHES of the United States Military: Air Force, Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and Space Force. Each branch has its own branches within. You can feel free to speak with recruiters when they come to school, or even at recruitment offices. Until you have actually enlisted in a branch, you are free to ask questions and investigate which branch would be the best suited for you - or if the military is the right fit for you, in general. Each branch of service provides job specific training in hundreds of unique fields. Military service provides a multitude of educational opportunities, including taking college courses while you serve, as well as providing the Post 9/11 GI Bill.
For those considering enlisting, one step in the process is taking the ASVAB Test. We give the school-based version of the test at least once per school year. It is free to take. Although taking the test does not guarantee enlistment, taking the test is one part of the enlistment process that will be asked of you if you decide to enlist. The higher your score, the more branches and branch-specific jobs will be open to you. The military will look at your most RECENT scores (not your best scores), so if you are happy with your results, you do not need to retake the test. Doing so and having your score decrease would be detrimental for options available to you.
Please check the following website to see the routes available to you through the military, with links to the individual branches: Today's Military.
If you are interested in taking the ASVAB Test at Natick High School, please speak with Mr. Nardi in the Guidance Department.
