Sophomore Guidance Seminar
Sophomore students participate in Guidance
Seminar during the spring semester. Each student is scheduled into a
seminar which meets during the CDS block once per cycle, and is taught
by his or her own guidance counselor. Sophomores will be focusing on
self discovery, career exploration, and scheduling for the next school
year. Topics include, but are not limited to, access to their Naviance
accounts to complete Do What You Are (a career interest inventory based
on the Myers Briggs Type Indicator), college majors that pertain to the
careers revealed from the assessment, and bullying intervention and
prevention curriculum designed to foster empathy and build school
community. Guidance Seminar takes place during one Common Directed Study
block per cycle.
